March 26,2001: Today, Jeff and I went to pick up his new 1992 Honda Nighthawk 750. We found it by looking in recycler and checked it out on Saturday. It was totally supreme and in perfect condition and he decided to put down a deposit for it.
Well, today we drove over to Norwalk after work to pick it up from its first owner, Jorge. He had kept the bike in absolute perfect condition and babied it. (Even going so far as to keep it inside his apartment so no thugs would mess with it!)
Since Jeff doesn't yet have his motorcycle license, I drove it the 25 miles home for hime. It drove quite differently than my Nighthawk 700S. A much tamer bike with a broader power band and a more retro look. His has a windshield which helps keep wind buffeting and noise down while on the freeway. Passing power is very good even without downshifting and the bike does 75 super easily.
It's Jeff's first real motorcycle and should be a great bike that will last a long time. Honda Nighthawks are known for their awesome reliability and near zero maintenance. Even though this isn't a small bike, this is a super easy and tame bike to learn on. And, since it's a 750, it won't be outgrown quickly -- if ever.
I took some pictures as seen below. Sorry for the bad quality. Taking pictures in near dark is hard, especially when it has reflectors to screw up the camera's light metering system.
Isn't the bike sweet!!?? Email Jeff about it at jjohnson63@mediaone.net
